Historical Background:
Cindy Sherman is a very famous artist who shows her art through photography of herslef, reprensenting woman roles. This one in particular she plays the role of an older woman who has excessive makeup to try and hide her flaws, such as her wrinkles.
Representation of Gender Role:
This image conveys how woman view as "beautiful" and how woman will go an extra mile to be socities view of beautiful.

I chose to discuss a gender role of women andhow theyre seen to be flawless and beautiful and cindy sherman pictured that in her untiltle #458. Her picture showed the extent women will go to keep their opinion of beautiful, by hiding their wrinkles and hiding their natural self.
I chose to reform Cindy Shermans #458.
I drew 1 person but who have two completely sides, On the left side I drew cindy Sherman being what society thibks is beautiful. Its an older woman who seems like she still wants to be the life of the party regardless her age or how she looks.
On the right side I drew a careless older woman who lets her hair get gray and in more casual clothes. I drew her with her wrinkles more visible because she does not care how anyone sees her. The balloons represent her birthday and how much older she is getting. Very natural and her being herself.
INDIVIDUAL ART MAKING
I say yes, even though I also thought it was challenging to draw exactly what I was thinking, but I also thought it was a really cool subject to talk about. Gender roles are something very interesting and it helps to understand it a lot more when you see other artist express it.
